The Language Institute offers ESL, TOEFL Preparation, English conversation and many other programs in Los Angeles, Pasadena and Glendale California. At TLI you will find a friendly and supportive environment both in and out of the classroom. Since 1989 we have been committed to helping our students learn the essential English skills they need to communicate effectively in business, education and travel, as well as helping our students experience American culture in beautiful southern California. Our staff assists students through each phase of the educational experience from initial entry into the US to transferring to college or university.

Our year-round Intensive English Program includes 18-25 hours of lessons per week in small classes covering grammar, listening, speaking, reading, writing and pronunciation. TLI also offers Test Preparations Programs for TOEFL and other exams. In addition, you may enroll in private lessons tailored specifically to your individual needs.

Intensive English or ESL program
Our intensive ESL (English as a Second Language) program is specifically designed and continually developed to help non-native speakers learn essential English skills. Our ESL classes are taught in a friendly and caring atmosphere, which encourages active participation from each student.

TOEFL preparation program
Our TOEFL preparation program emphasizes the techniques and strategies needed to unlock the door to success.  We zero in on how the test works intrinsically so we can learn to understand TOEFL skills inside and out.

English conversation program
Our English conversation program is designed to help non-native speakers and more advanced students to improve conversation and communication skills. English conversation classes are taught in a very small group, which promotes active participation from individual student.
